This care home was developed with people’s health and wellness at the centre of the design. An efficient new space has been derived from the clients care plan. This personal approach allowed the design to enable autistic tendencies to not disrupt but enhance the needs of the client. The programme led to a well structured design that promotes a healthy life. The sensory needs of the garden and the benefits of the principles in the ‘WELL Standard’ allows for a healthy structured routine that was never possible for a typical set of spaces developed for the many.
