The modernisation of a restrictive living plan of a very typical conservative developers layout was the brief. With this deep narrow plan light was the issue. The new open plan was informed by the light travelling in and around the space. This informed the materials used, products and product planning. In this solution the advantage of versatility for privacy was thought about at the concept stage and a very detailed layout plan was advantageous to make sure there was enough space for the needs of a busy family and a very accurate cost prediction.
